Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. In recognition of the tremendous impact Corporal William Minor, affectionally known as "Butch," had in Prince George’s County, Maryland and young people, the objective of The Foundation is to preserve his legacy through scholarships and other resources that may provide aid to students and families throughout our community.
The William V. Minor Education Foundation is dedicated to supporting students in Prince George’s County, Maryland, by awarding scholarships and other forms of financial aid to those who demonstrate academic ability, active community involvement, and a genuine need for financial assistance in their pursuit of higher education. One of the ways the WVMEF does this is through partnerships with schools, elected officials and community organizations. Whereas our target audience is focused on “Scholarship for Grade School and Continuing Higher Education”.
Outcome: Encourages lifelong learning experiences, building and or improving knowledge and skills that may better position students in career opportunities, benefiting both individuals and the community at large.
By using various programs and strategies, as a nonprofit education foundation it’s not simply important to assist students with financial support but also ensure that the students have the tools and resources necessary for academic and career success.
