WVMEF Mission

The core business of the foundation is to award scholarships and other aid to students in Prince George’s County, Maryland who demonstrate academic ability, community involvement, and a need for financial assistance in the pursuit of their educational and career endeavors. The Foundation shall devote its time, resources and efforts to raising funds to support the Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs. The Foundation will also devote its time, resources and efforts to the administration of the scholarship and grant programs. Further, it will represent the interests of the individuals that the Foundation serves, through participation in community affairs, to be responsive to those expressing interest in the Foundation. The area of geographic focus is Prince George’s County, Maryland. The Foundation will adhere to the Standards of Excellence as set forth by the Maryland Association of Nonprofits, in its Guiding Principles of the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability of Code for the Nonprofit Sector.
